Apple Books Expands Digital Narration with New British Voice
Apple Books just added a new British voice to their digital narration, which means authors have more options to create high-quality audiobooks.
They have a Soprano and Baritone voice for every supported book genre. While a Baritone option for British English is not currently available, authors can still use the Soprano voice. Also, the British English voice cannot be applied to non-fiction genres.
PublishDrive customers are also eligible to use this voice for their digitally narrated books.
You can select this voice under the language options in the book upload process. It will be displayed as English (United Kingdom).
You have two options for English audiobooks:
- American accent (Madison)
- British accent (Amberley)
Apple Books digital narration combines advanced speech synthesis technology with the expertise of linguists, quality control specialists, and audio engineers to produce top-notch audiobooks from ebook files.
Known for their innovative speech technology, they adapted their tools for long-form reading, collaborating closely with publishers, authors, and narrators.
This partnership ensures that their digital narration maintains the high standards that listeners expect.
Digitally narrated titles are an excellent complement to professionally narrated audiobooks. They help in making audio content accessible to more books and more people.
